SERVING MY COMMUNITY

My mother organized 300 community members to paint the Black Lives Matter Harlem Mural during the pandemic.

I always enjoy helping my mother with the community events her company produces.

I’m proud to be a Teen charter member of Empire NYC chapter, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. As a member of Jack and Jill of America, we are taught to value and be of service to our community.

We also partnered with a community organization and other NYC Jack and Jill chapters to collect donations of coats, clothing, personal care items & books and hosted a pop-up boutique for families in need to take home free items.

I was excited to organize student participants from Manhattan Country School to paint the BLM Harlem Mural.

Last year, my mother’s company hosted a holiday party for Harlem families living in public housing. I set up the art stations for the children.

My teen chapter created holiday care packs for local families in need.

It was exciting to be a part of making history.

Working with the kids to make gingerbread houses and holiday ornaments was the highlight of the event for me!

My Jack and Jill teen chapter also held a coat and toy drive which helped bring holiday cheer to the families.
